Once I had finally had enough, I decided to quit my job working for a Japanese Investment Bank in 2002. I didn’t know what I would do or how I would support myself. Several days later I walked in on a conversation between 2 friends. “We’re going to Vietnam…do you fancy it”.  I went, I met a fellow traveller, we returned to Vietnam the following year. For a time, we lived on a rose farm in the foothills of the Himalayas. I returned to Leeds and started a fine art degree, I knew now how I would support myself.

“Capped” was an installation of roses grown in my house, through winter, under hydroponic lights. (Southsquare Gallery – 2007)
